Akor Adams: "A good pitch is the minimum for African football"

Une pelouse abîmée vue de très près : un attaquant tentant de garder le ballon pendant qu'un défenseur glisse en tacle, terre et mottes d'herbe arrachées soulevées sous les crampons, le cadre entièrement rempli de jambes et de gazon.

Nigeria suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat against Guinea-Bissau in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Attacker Akor Adams takes responsibility for the rout but points the finger at the pitch.

Akor Adams spoke after the Super Eagles' humiliating defeat. He acknowledges the poor performance, but does not mince his words about the state of the pitch.

According to him, CAF must guarantee decent conditions: 'A good pitch is the bare minimum for African football,' he said.

This setback complicates Nigeria's campaign in the qualifiers. Adams promises the team will bounce back.
