Three months after parting ways with Vladimir Petkovic, new revelations indicate a compensation package far higher than the initially announced €480,000.

The Fennecs' coach had left his post in early August. According to sources close to the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), the total cost of his departure is close to several million euros.

This amount, much larger than initial estimates, casts a harsh light on the FAF's finances. The precise details of Petkovic's contract have not been made public.

The Bosnian coach was appointed head of Algeria in March 2024. His mixed record and strained relations with key team members hastened his departure.
