The Atlas Lions continue their rise. Thanks to Brazil's draw against Australia (1-1) earlier, Morocco overtakes the Seleção and takes fifth place in the world.
This is a new record for Moroccan football, which has never reached such a ranking. The progression has been constant since the 2022 World Cup campaign.
This position is still provisional. Morocco faces Gabon this Friday in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. A victory could consolidate this ranking.
Moroccan supporters can savor this historic moment, even if the main goal remains qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations.
