Three goals, one assist, and a spectacular victory against Rennes (5-2): Elye Wahi chose the right moment to shine. Just days before Hervé Renard's squad announcement for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The young Ivorian striker returns to the forefront after a difficult period. His hat-trick reignites the debate about the number 9 position for the Elephants.
Ivory Coast has been searching for a reliable center-forward for months. With his performance, Wahi shows he can be a credible solution.
He still needs to confirm it with the national team. Hervé Renard's squad list will be revealed soon. Wahi should be part of it.
